Their Local Chapter
The Make-A-Wish of Northern Nevada became an affiliate chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America in 1982, and is one of 64 chapters nationally. All funds raised by the Foundation are used to fulfill their mission in the Northern Nevada area, which covers a total of thirteen counties. Since their inception, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northern Nevada has granted over 700 wishes to children in our communities. Nationally, the Foundation has granted the wishes of more than 200,000 children with life threatening medical conditions nationwide.

Dr. Freeman joined their team in September 2010. She brings over 17 years of non-profit management experience through her work in organizations focusing on child abuse and neglect prevention, advocacy for the disabled, teen parenting, training and programs serving the needs of parents and children. She has a Doctorate in Social Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno and has lived in the Sparks area since 1994. As the primary person responsible for fundraising and grant development at the Northern Nevada Chapter; she is looking forward to growing the chapter in order to grant more wishes than ever before!
